If you have heard of Alfa

It is
an 802.11n Wi-Fi receiver packed with a lot of output power at 1000mW, and great receive sensitivity for the 802.11n standard too. It comes in special weatherproof casing, and includes two mounting ties. It features a solid N-male external antenna connector so you can hook it to an outdoor or marine antenna you already own, or one you plan to purchase
(no antenna is included)
. It also comes with a special shielded 16′ USB cable which protects against power signal loss. It is true that the longer USB cables get, the less power signal they transfer. Out of the box you will notice this USB cable is much thicker than your average cable- that is because it has special shielding designed to prevent power loss.
This is designed for plugin to a Microsoft Windows computer and is also compatible with the ALFA R36A USB router. No antenna is included.
Easily fasten it to your boat or RV, or an outdoor pole or post. You can connect any type of antenna to this product that has an N-female connector on it. We also sell pigtails and converters if you already own an outdoor antenna with a different connector type. This product does not come with an antenna, and does require one to operate. You will need to purchase or already own a compatible antenna to use this. It does not have any type of internal antenna, and indoor use is not recommended. For indoor 802.11g Wi-Fi, we recommend Alfa model AWUS036H.
